St Paulinus came to Gefrin in AD 627

Ad Gefrin-"The hill of the wild goats"
The major royal centre in the Anglian kingdom of Bernicia.
Appears to be something under it or it is just the start of foundations?
Was it started and not finished?
There is a tribal route path that runs diagonally through it.
How odd!

On to Yeavering Bell Stone Circle

The arrow marker positions it in a rather peculiar spot going off where it's supposed location is supposed to be.
I have placed a white circle where I suspect it could be.
Some interesting lighter area's show up as I enhanced the image.
Only a field trip to this spot would prove me right I guess if any field tripper's care to visit it.
Finally a trip to Hethpool
another wonderful looking ancient site.
Hethpool sits 1.5 miles due North of the Yeavering Bell Stone Circle and dates from 5,000-2,000BC

I have measured the outer ring at 382 feet but I feel that it has been altered from a much bigger ringed 'BOW OR BU' henge.
The most interesting of the three sites I would say.
One to certainly investigate more in depth and not just the top layers.
Only at that point would we find the clues to what lay under the top 18"!
Get the trowls out and put that kettle on!
Not enough attention is given to our prehistory.
Please Take Yor litter home.
