Beware of the sleeping dragons in Yorkshire they are just old academic's that got lost and have now turned to stone.

The Lost Bowland Warrior Codes & Bows in Lancashire, UK
This entire area has been the sacred beating heart of middle England from the Dawn Of Time, now it faces it's the biggest fight of its entire life... THE FRACKING INDUSTRY.
The Time Is Here Hobbits, the time is NOW.
98% OF LANCASHIRE SAID NO TO FRACKING..WILL YOU?
So OK here is the last 4,500 years of Hobbit History for all you fans of middle earth.

Documented and found by myself and I will be showcasing this stones detail at my upcoming exhibition.
I am calling this UK's oldest prehistorical constellation Stone- CALENDAR ROUND. LATER WE CALLED THEM COVER STONES, DECORATIVE CLAN HEADSTONES. (Basically, this is why they don't like the clans or accept the fact that we had TRIBES. They do not want you educated, not really educated to basic standards of Middle Earth. This is the Land that inspired JRR Tolkien 's The Lord Of The Rings & The Hobbit.
So what can we learn about Calendar Stones? Well, the Aztec had them and the Mayan..but this stone is way older than their round calendar stones.
Happy Summer Solstice 2018 from the Rough at Wiswell Moor, just West of the Nic O Pendle in Lancashire, UK
Here is a 4,500 BC zodiac map I found in the reference library at Clitheroe under the 'B' section. It didn't have the authors name but I found it interesting & THE BOOK is full of other pages of the zodiac.
Always reference your research as this is the KEY to understanding the Hobbit World.
I have put my own take on the map by colouring in the main key focal points of interest & the area that covers the stones in this part of my blog.
Who were these people and why was the BOWLAND so special to them?

I applied the 'LION' THEORY' to the Sunset image that I had taken from the 'orbital' stone tablet & found that it really looked like a lion resting on the flanks of the little Bowland that is WEST and EAST Lanc's.
Known in the ancient days as Little Bowland and Big Bowland (Old Norse)
The zodiac map detail that includes Pendle Hill & Wiswell Rough. Apparently, there are a few known zodiac's in the lands around the UK  that could be dating back to as early as 4,500 BC and this could be connected to one of them.

IN THE SAME BOOK  I found a drawing of the Pendle Zodiac solar wheels that aligns with the Twelve Apostles stone circle at Ilkley Moor that is also of millstone grit.

I applied the 'my orbital stone tablet design' to the Twelve Apostle layout and to the diagram then came up with this.
Like a huge solar FAN radiating her essence across WEST AND EAST Lancashire.
These are the 'SMALL' Sun Wheels of our ancestors.
When I say small I am talking about maybe 300 feet in dia if we count the huge eagle split stone at least 150 feet  EAST away.
I have walked the unspoiled plateau that has remained Virgin Lands since the last Ice age & I can see huge Solar wheels radiating like the huge dotted cosmic colour coded wheels in a delicate coded stone format.
Please see link

Zodiac Wheel, Little Bowland (Lancashire)

If you walk along the 'SPINE' of the hill you will see huge solar wheels that sit on the huge side flanks of the hill with a huge central round stone and stones that radiate from the central stone.
Slight hill bagging has taken place in the past the treacle miners & their cart marks can still be seen on the lower flanks.
Why are they still here? Because the machines have not got this far up yet but they are getting there very slowly.

Now Imagine adding this concept to every hill and valley in the UK or the world.
The valley's that are lost and recycled by mans heavy hand is lost and cannot be brought back, but those that are left have to be recorded and recorded right.
We 'HAVE' to 'DITCH' the negativity against the 'TRIBAL INDIGENOUS FOLK' AND THE GREAT NORTHERN TRIBES that went before us.
Who left us these stones to record and why the lack of interest?

I guess I want to get in the mind of the Storegga Slide survivors, The Pygmy Flint Race that walked before us,

The Beaker cultures, The heathen Armies, the ancient Highlanders and Welsh Triads because each of these races walked this way and was part of this story within the landscape & so were their daughters well before the Barbaric Vikings and the Romans ever set foot on the soils & set out to divert the rivers to their communities.
This route was the M6 from South to North and in places, it has become sidetracked and taken off the map in places and diverted as and when it suited the Romans.
Cromwell and his armies came within feet of it but maybe they were scared off by the giant ants and the bee's the size of footballs?
Either way, it's a walk not for the faint hearted & best walked on an early spring warm day any later in the year and the grasses are too long to see anything.

'Tribal INDIGENOUS Folk' CARE AND LOOK AFTER THE LAND TODAY LIKE THEY ALWAYS HAVE AND WILL DO.
The 'YOUNG' academic's need to get their heads out of their backsides and learn about the tribal warriors because the warriors are just as important today as they were 5,000 years ago & just as active trust me.
Not everything can be found inside a textbook, sometimes one has to get off one's ass and get face to face with the giant ants and killer bees.
To understand nature one must look into the very EYE of nature.
These were farmers, hunter-gatherers & before they came were the pygmy race that was as tall as you and I, they just used smaller weapons to hunt fish with & small animals to survive.
They didn't have to worry too much about warfare just survival through the cold snaps & if it meant killing your brother's pig to feed your family to survive you killed his pig & boiled his brains.
They left great etchings on stones & they knew by doing this that the lichen would grow and leave their mark for others to learn from, so take heed not everything is about greed.
The etched Duckheads on stones as a great reminder that ducks were important to them.
Maybe the duck was a sacred symbol that they went on to use?
The Duckstone and the solar wheel.

Before I introduce the Lost Little Bowland Warrior I want to take you through the grasslands that surround him & show you some interesting undocumented stone, etchings & observations that I have recorded.

2017 I made a point of clearing the grass slightly away from the stone. This helped me see more evidence within the structure & workmanship.
If you look closely you might notice some form of script & pitted marks?
When I noticed the pitted markings and lettering I called it a stone tablet and not just a coverstone!
Notice how I use marbles to record the detail & not water.
This saves water and is more environmentally friendly.
There are lots of interesting marks but my question is who, what & when were these marks made?

Stones do not lie.

My Calculations from the stone shows the 'HEART' IS EAST THE BIRD IS NORTH & THE CLOVER 'WEST'.
The feet of the Bird sits on what appears to be pitted script, maybe the name of the bird?
Direct 'EAST' of this stone is a huge split stone that aligns both to the East and to the West.

'H' STONE (HORIZON) SPLIT STONE OR THE 'EAGLE STONE' WISWELL MOOR looking from above.
The Eye of the split stone I filled with 30 marbles TO SAVE WATER. 2018 has been a dry summer so I used marbles instead of water to record the cup ring. I am so glad I did as it gives me a better idea of the shapes & depths of the stones.
I would say the marbles are lighter to carry and better than using plastic bottles. I keep my marbles in a paper bag in my ruck sack.

I am not sure how the stones are all connected at this stage to the Bowland Warrior as most are prehistoric & unrecorded by the academic's. I guess only the scientists & weirdo's like myself could attempt 2 answers this truthfully and masses of funding.
I'm not aware of any scientific papers that have been written about the stones, just a few lines in books from a few folks that mention some BRIGANTE' WAY. I'm sorry but that don't cut it with me as these stones and ancient paths are well older than the tribes of the Brigante's. I'm aware of local lore on one of the stones but that does not fit the suggested age of the split stone.
Bear in mind that there is a number Coloured of split stones along this area and most have South West alignments that lead to further larger stone UNRECORDED outcrops.
Some of the stones are smaller and in animal and bird shapes of various colours.
I started studying the stones some six years ago and I have filled at least four healthy journals with my recordings. I have created numerous artworks, some detailed studies & some framed abstract paintings.
Video works & general field trips as I went along.
By working this way it has helped me look at not only the construction or the land art/artefacts but it has influenced my own personal style of which I had never really found a style before studying these stones.
I guess the stones have really impacted the way I look at prehistorical art both in its natural surroundings and in the studio setting when creating my own take on the works.
I now apply this technique to other sites that I am or have worked on and I am really getting a full body of work from this way of working.
I have always been interested in the 'ART OF SEEING PRE Historically' from being a young child & in parts of my blog I explain this 'way of seeing'.
The late Professor Alexander Thorn who termed the phrase 'Megalithic Yard' work is also great to look at, his work on the prehistoric world around us is mind-blowing.
I often refer back to his work when I find rings or etched stoneworks.
 Cracking the Stone Age Code
I would have loved to have taken him on a field trip in the outback of Australia and New Zealand.
Prehistory is prehistory and its only under our feet if you care to look but with the invention of the machines now we will start to see less and less unless we start to look after it, become interested in it and protect it.
These stones are the 'stone codes' of our past & the work of the ones who went before us.
To me, it's the DNA, the footsteps & the wisdom of our grandfather's paths that they laid down for us to walk on, they built us a strong path to follow them by & MADE THE EFFORT TO COLOUR CODE THE PATHS.
Yes, we can build our own path & some will choose to do this, but mark my words one day you will run into the grandfather's dream path he built for you & IT WILL SLAP YOU AROUND YOUR HEAD LIKE A WET KIPPER.
His marks will lead you to the North, South, East and West if you know how to observe the stone markings.

If your not sure what summer solstice IS always refers to an astronomer as they seem to explain far better than I ever could.

The Lost Bowland warrior sits waiting for you to visit and say "hello" to him & his wee friends THE TREACLE MINERS and faeries.

They invite you to sit a while whilst you look over at his BOW AT THE NIC O PENDLE IN LANCASHIRE.

He sit's on the flank of land just by the Nic, down the hill towards Sabden end (down from the Poor Maidens Way.

My first immediate thoughts were how did the artist draw this without a pencil?

Basic thought's I know, but when your an artist like myself these are the kinda question one ask's one's self.
At the time of finding the warrior, I was actually in my 2nd year at University studying a BA fine art degree.
I wanted to study sculpture and try and understand the concept behind it and how to see it. I didn't realize it was as simple as it was!
I showed images of my 'WARRIOR' to my tutor who had her PhD in sculpture and I asked her opinion about it.
Her immediate response was "I shouldn't bother about it"! and she carried on her day.
This shocked me totally, but I guess we just saw things differently.
I then thought of Henry Moore and how the landscape influenced his works & how his work impacted so many people. Barbara Hepworth and her wonderful sculptures in Yorkshire.
Imagine if they had been given the same negative response.
I doubt it would have impacted them or steered them any different.

Then I began to question and look at the form of the artwork in front of me that was coming out of me from within an academic setting.
It was so alien to me, senseless without meaning.
I had to get back outdoors and find what I was looking for.
I found myself with my warrior more & more I was more tuned in to him.
I looked at it like I look at any form of visual art & I share it now like I'd share any of my works, publically & if folk are interested then great if not, well there is no love lost.
To me he is not only MY WARRIOR, HE IS MY HERO.
He has listened to my worries, shared my happy moments and he has healed me where science and Dr's failed.
He has helped me grow, helped me see clearly, he listens to me and I to him.
He is my grandfather and guide.
At first, I didn't want to share him but if I don't, then I can't guarantee his protection, safety and I feel that I am his guardian for now.
Directly behind his head is a dangerous quarry drop.
The contents of this quarry sit under the Empire State building in America.
Why on earth that isn't fenced off is beyond me.
I have seen teenagers mess about up there so many times and nearly fall to their death, tourists walking to the edge just for a nice photo opportunity..honestly, the councils really should get the area made safe.
Man is a real selfish ass with no common sense at times.

Recording & field studies of the Bowland Warrior.
I recorded the scale and measurements in the dark as you can see.
What you can't see is a wonderful lozenge stone that sits behind him that measures in at 3.5 ft.
My recordings of the warrior & his friends are ongoing & still very much a 'work in progress'.
I have been taking shots, making sketches in all seasons as and when I can get up there for over six years.
I can see that (depending on the weather) the actual stone absorbs the snow & 'Mist Over Pendle' & this alters the colour range when I enhance the image.
At first, I thought I was seeing things until I ran further tests.
I knew I had to capture him in all seasons to bring out the colours of his seasons.
In early winter he is greenish then late winter it's blue, in spring it is more lilac shades as he starts to dry out in the spring sunshine, in summer well that's this year's work.
SPRING 2018
Note on this image the huge lozenge or fertility stone behind him. Behind the lozenge is a huge hole.

I have been studying the outcrops along this 'sacred prehistoric area' covering a 1/2 mile radius of the Nic O Pendle  & this also covers 'THE ROUGH' Wiswell Moor.  I can clearly see some ancient cists and frying pan style outcrops on the lower flanks & some very detailed prehistoric coded etchings.
(At this point I want to thank all the Global & local archaeologists that help me to try & understand the stones that I see and find. It takes many Yarns & Research to even get my blog to this stage,

I'm merely an artist who has a sideline hobby in locating prehistoric places, outcrops GLOBALLY NOT JUST LOCALLY & my interest is trying to understand how our prehistoric artists not only saw but how they recorded their history in a stone setting.
I want to study their story & help decode it.

Written forms, music forms, and myths are only telling you so much & if your like myself who's ancestors have moved into a foreign land, had their mother tongue & culture suppressed you automatically question the very ground your walking on.
Man can keep changing the 'terminology' culture myth's and word of our forefathers but remember one thing as you do this..STONES DO NOT LIE'.
A bogi is a bad man not a bend in a diverted river!

ANGLO-NORSE The etymology of “Bowland” is Old Norse, a name deriving from boga-/bogi-, meaning "a bend in a river". It is a tenth-century coinage perhaps used to describe the topography of the Hodder basin, with its characteristic meandering river and brooks but as a place name, it is not evidenced before the early twelfth century (Boelanda). Please see the link
“Bowland” is Old Norse
Forest and Liberty of Bowland emerged sometime after 1087. Further lands were granted to Poitou by William Rufus, either to reward him for his role in defeating the army of Scots king Malcolm III in 1091-2 or possibly as a consequence of the confiscation of lands from Robert de Mowbray, Earl of Northumbria in 1095.

I want to go before then as if a man could draw horses & beasts on caves he would have been able to work stone in a creative manner and leave his work for those who see it.
He would leave clues and messages for you to see, I know as an artist I try and do the same.

I'm looking for the codes, the secret codes of Man!
I'm looking at the building blocks, I'm looking at the construction and the deconstruction.

Were they secret or tribal? OK I know some of you academics can't get your head around the TRIBAL idea but I'm afraid you have to accept the tribal connection as it is written in stone and stones do not lie. The thing is to find the connection under your feet not under your nose is a textbook or internet. I can see the man today appears to be in a hurry to recycle his historical footprint never mind his carbon footprint with machines.
***But remember one thing with technology comes creativity just as it did when man chipped his first ever pygmy flint.***
Once man's flint workings were the technology of his day.
In my humble opinion, you haven't even got your hands dirty yet when it comes to understanding The FLINT= The Paw Prints of our Grandfathers.

FAIRY OF LITTLE BOWLAND FOREST. Dawn Hilton 2016/17
THIS WEE FAIRY HAS PACKED HER BAG AND IS MOVING OUT, she feels her vote has fallen on deaf ears.
Fairies are scared of becoming extinct & are now on the endangered list.
She tell's me that in the UK we are down to 2% natural original woodland.
Her ancestors have lived and cared for this forest since time began. Now sadly even the ancient forests are not safe from humans. She must find 'Higher grounds'.
Question. 1 HOW you can tell a natural woodland? Answer Native Bluebells won't grow on any other ground. Mans machines are climbing high as mountains.
THIS IS A GLOBAL FAIRY PROBLEM WHEN IT COMES TO THE FORESTS.
Mexican Guava Fairies and Crack-Head Leprechauns: Are We Living in an Enchanted World?

Last month, Jose Maldonado of Guadalajara Mexico claimed he found and captured a fairy. The 22-year-old unemployed bricklayer was picking guavas when he spied a twinkling object that he at first thought was a firefly. The object allegedly turned out to be a tiny humanoid creature (apparently female) with gossam
er insect-like wings. Maldonado explained, “I knew that it was a fairy godmother.” The creature died not long after its discovery (disturbingly, it is not clear how the fairy died after it was captured) and its discoverer put it in a jar of formaldehyde.

To the academic archaeologists
How many times have you walked past a rock and looked back at it thinking you saw something in it, you doubled back and relooked again?
This is normal, this is part of you that is returning back to your 'NATIVE SELF'. Spending five minutes to study one stone is NOT long enough, some stones require many years to study to understand the 'full' picture of the stones codes that lay within it.
How many strange objects have you had to place on a shelf when you know that it 'deserves every fund available to prove yourself a top recognized academic PRIZE' in your field?
But as we know silence is a GOLDEN wink & a HANDSHAKE away, don't blink.

Now, this stone I FIND AMAZING.
I showed my journal & images of this stone to a professor of archaeology from Lancaster University that I had bumped into AT WHALLEY ABBEY in Lancashire. He informed me that it was early Neolithic. I showed him the image of the stone from above that I took and I said: "to my creative eyes it looked like an eagle with a cup ring eye".

The guy looked interested but not excited!
Here I filled up the Eagles Eye with my marbles before I totally lost them all.
The EYE took thirty marbles to fill up the cup ring.
I use marble and not water to show up cup rings.

I'm sorry but between me & you I was jumping for joy when I saw this, I could see it with an 'ARTIST'S EYE' & not an archaeologists EYE.
I had walked the hills, the moors and I know what's up there but I can only say one thing about LOOKING & SEEING.

'OPEN YOUR EYES TO THE ART OF MAN'
The man drew with rocks for millions of years it's only since the 1500's that man invented the pencil.
A large seam of graphite had been discovered in a place GREY KNOTT'S NEAR SEATHWAITE IN CUMBRIA and the pencil as we know it today was born from that seam.
Artists from all over the world came for their graphite.
Back to the stone.
I'm sorry but I became obsessed with this stone once I saw the intelligence behind the 'FRED FLINTSTONE ROCK ART'.

I guess once you have seen one you have seen them all.

If this small area was down in the South of England I guess there would be such great interest, maybe it's the ant's the size of donkeys, the friendly sheep or the bees as big as footballs why it's all still here soaking up the Sunshine & Moonlight.

Anyway, enough about giant ant's and treacle miners there is so much up here if you are a crackpot like me & like to look & RECORD stones & SHARE your cake with the sheep.
I must say though the stone dotty circles are amazing and the stones come in all colours, sizes & animal / zoomorphic shapes.

BACK TO THE STONE.

I found it interesting as the Sun radiated through the Eagle's beak as it sat on the horizon and left a huge 'H' cardinal shadow.
At the point of the Sun hitting the beak, it was as if the eagle was SUCKING OR DRAWING ENERGY FROM THE SUNS RAY.
IT WAS AMAZING EXPERIENCE but my battery had died and I couldn't capture the GRAND FINALE'.
OMG what an experience, I felt so lucky to have seen the entire work LIGHT UP.
IT WAS LIKE A STONEAGE LASER SHOW PRIVATE VIEWING & IT WAS FREE JUST FOR ME.

Infront of the stone is a huge arrow stone that also aligns in the Westerly direction that leads to further stones of all shapes and sizes from Black Ravens (hail Ragnar'

to white swans, to 'EAST POSITION 'C' or 'ARC' etched stones, all IN code.
Call it a 'tribal stone'

This has to be a TRIBAL GREAT CHIEF & it reminds me so much of the 'HOPI'.

Now the 'DOVE' is a symbol of St John, any connection? But it could be an eagle.

How many white heart shape stones have you seen and just wondered about them?
This area has them all, huge white heart to small offering ones.
It takes years not days or minutes to record these stones. Many journeys and trek are to them in all seasons and conditions.
In the summer days, I was eaten alive almost by giant ant's as big as a donkey.
Other days I almost sank in the huge mossy blanket mosses that just sit within the fairy pools.

Bees the size of footballs & bird of such wonderful song to keep you company.

The Hawks (shite-hawks) sit in wait above your head ready to pounce below.
What a beautiful little ecosystem all working in unity to keep the nasty humans at bay.
I must say on the lower flanks the sheep will just chat to you as long as you care to listen.
Aye, there is the odd treacle miner still jumping about so I had to make drawings & sketch them quickly before they ran off playing with the wee fairies.
Treacle Miners & The Bow Warrior (detail) Dawn Hilton 2016
They reminded me of tiny Pendle Witches & boy were they fast.

The community of the treacle miners you can see they are all busy doing their bit & are very much eco-friendly within their environment as they try and design their next ECO warrior homes.
I really don't know what they were doing here as they are so fast.
They have tiny eco tea shops and pretty tables with pink and white cup ring cakes but they never offered me one.

So on to the 'Orbital stone'.

Just feet EAST along from the bow warrior is the GREEN SEAL, I have noted that the stones around autumn turn a greenish colour as the heat from the atmosphere cools.

Imagine my delight when not only do I find a Selkie/Seal stone but one with a cupring eye.

This is what fascinates me about how the artist actually saw and how he created his art.

Seeing as an artist is no different how non-artists see, we all see differently and each set of eyes is unique. If we all saw the same way art would be boring and all the same.

Some tribes or clans use a set of designs like Tartan or feathers, the way we style our hair or wear it.
It is only when we rearrange the 'normal' subject that we question it like Picasso rearranged 'THE SUBJECT or FACES' in his paintings by placing a nose where an ear should be that gave it the 'WOW/SHOCK FACTOR' and he learned to turn heads by literally 'turning the heads of his subjects.
Now as I sat and looked at the Warrior I noted that he was looking at something so I followed his line of vision, then I saw the BOW AT THE NIC!
WEST SUNSET BOW AT THE NIC O PENDLE

COINCIDENT? SOME WOULD ARGUE, but I am not looking for an argument I'm merely recording what I see it be.
The problem I have is knowing if the BOW was originally there or being a natural BOW set within its natural place.
Could a geologist prove otherwise? it certainly would be interesting to find out.
Or maybe not, maybe now THE LOST WARRIOR and his BOW has a right and place in recorded history.
I have viewed it from google earth & it looks rather natural.

Please don't take the 'cross'  boulders seriously, I was just having fun with paint on the PC!
But as you can see the BOW is positioned WESTERLY!
Above the BOW on the 'ROUGH' on Wiswell Moor literally by the edge is a SWAN stone outcrop.

Now I'm not too worried about the geology of the Warriors bed as it look's well kept apart from it's lower flanks where those pesky treacle miners have been busy over the years.
But it is always good to keep an eye out for our warriors as they lay in their beds.
They once guarded us and we must guard them.

PLEASE REMEMBER TO USE THE GREEN 'X' CODE when visiting the Nic O Pendle.
A green earth is a healthy earth.
Thank you for viewing.
